Anti-inflammatory
Modern scientific research has found that feverfew extract contains parthenolide, an ingredient with strong anti-inflammatory properties. It can quickly penetrate the skin, eliminating skin inflammation and relieving symptoms such as redness, swelling, and itching, bringing relief to people with sensitive skin.
Bacteriostatic
The volatile oil of feverfew extract has a certain inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus albicans Proteus mirabilis, Streptococcus b haemolyticus and Diplococcus pneumoniae, and the inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus is particularly obvious.
Beneficial for Migraine Treatment
Feverfew extract can improve migraine headaches is due to its ability to inhibit the production of serotonin in the brain. Serotonin causes blood vessels to tighten and release pain-causing chemicals. A clinical trial in the UK showed that consuming feverfew extract for four months significantly reduced the frequency and severity of migraine attacks. Also, Tanacetum Parthenium can help improve the nausea, vomiting, and visual disturbances that accompany migraines.
Inhibition of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells
Parthenolide can inhibit the proliferation of human hepatocellular carcinoma BEL-7402 cells and induce their apoptosis, one of the mechanisms may be related to the enhancement of p53 protein expression and inhibition of the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen protein, which inhibits the proliferation of cell nuclear antigen is involved in the synthesis of DNA; recent studies have shown that parthenolide belongs to the inhibitor of the nuclear factor Chemicalbook κB, and can induce apoptosis of many kinds of tumor cells.
It can induce apoptosis in a variety of tumor cells. The mechanism of enhancement is related to the fact that parthenolide can inhibit the activity of nuclear factor κB and enhance the apoptosis induced by 4-HPR in hepatocellular carcinoma cells, and the mechanism of enhancement is related to the fact that parthenolide can inhibit the activity of nuclear factor κB and enhance the apoptosis induced by 4-HPR in hepatocellular carcinoma cells.
Improves Rheumatoid Arthritis
Several laboratory studies have shown that feverfew extract can reduce inflammatory symptoms by slowing down the production of leukotrienes and arachidonic acid, compounds that cause inflammation. Clinical studies have reported a significant reduction in the frequency of arthritic flare-ups and pain levels in most people after taking feverfew extract for 2-3 months.
Applications:
In Cosmetics:
Feverfew extract is mainly used in cosmetics and skin care products as an anti-inflammatory agent, antioxidant, soothing and anti-allergic. It contains volatile oil, flavonoids, amino acids, chlorogenic acid, and trace elements. Based on the biological activities of chrysanthemum extract as antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, soothing, and anti-allergic, feverfew extract is widely used in cosmetics to prevent allergies, moisturize the skin, combat acne, and anti-aging.
It penetrates deep into the skin's underlying layers, repairing the damaged skin barrier, strengthening the skin's resistance and gradually restoring it to health. Feverfew extract also regulates the skin's water-oil balance, keeping the skin fresh and comfortable. It effectively inhibits allergens and reduces the occurrence of skin allergies. As a natural cosmetic ingredient, chamomile extract extract has been used in a variety of cosmetic products.
For Health Products:
Feverfew extract mainly contains sesquiterpene lactones, flavonoids and other components, the above ground part of feverfew is parthenolide, mukulene lactone and so on. A large number of studies have confirmed that feverfew extract parthenolide has anti-inflammatory, anti-tumour, migraine and other effects. Feverfew extracts have been used as raw materials for health products.
